WINCHESTER - SOFA COLLECTION
Honouring a craft that began in 1773
A custodian of a 250‑year tradition
For over two centuries, the Chesterfield silhouette has been shaped, stitched, and deep‑buttoned by craftsmen working in the workshops of East Lancashire. Winchester continues that lineage today — building each sofa with the same discipline, materials, and heritage methods that defined the craft in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Every piece in this collection is crafted in our workshop, never outsourced, and finished to full Winchester specification.

HERITAGE CRAFT - BUILT IN OUR WORKSHOP
Every Winchester sofa is:
-
deep‑buttoned by hand
-
upholstered using traditional methods
-
built on a hardwood frame
-
hand‑dyed using full‑grain hides
-
finished in our workshop in East Lancashire
No part of the build is outsourced. No part of the craft is automated. Each piece is made by the same hands that restore heritage Chesterfields from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
MADE TO ORDER
Most Winchester sofas are crafted to order. A small number of Completed Winchester Builds are occasionally finished ahead of bespoke work and are brand‑new, unused, and ready to deliver.
You can view these in the Available Now section.

WHY WINCHESTER
Winchester is not a retailer. Winchester is a workshop, continuing a craft that began in 1773.
Your sofa is built by craftsmen, not machines. It is dyed, stitched, and deep‑buttoned by hand. It carries the heritage of the Chesterfield tradition into the present day.
