Knightsbridge Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.
The Knightsbridge Collection
The Knightsbridge Chesterfield is a sophisticated, minimalist interpretation of the classic British design. With its smooth, unbuttoned back and arms, clean scroll profile and beautifully tailored leather panels, the Knightsbridge offers a contemporary elegance while retaining the unmistakable silhouette of a true Chesterfield. Its simplicity gives it a calm, architectural presence, allowing the natural grain and patina of the leather to take centre stage. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and upholstered entirely by hand, the Knightsbridge delivers a supportive, comfortable sit with a refined, modern‑heritage character.

Craft & Construction
The Knightsbridge is crafted with smooth, unbuttoned panels across the back, arms and front border, a style that demands exceptional precision in leather cutting, stretching and hand‑tacking. Without the visual structure of deep buttoning, the tailoring must be flawless, with every seam aligned and every curve perfectly shaped.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. The scroll arms are traditionally padded and finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time to complement the model’s clean, elegant lines.
This model is crafted using the same hand‑tied springing and traditional upholstery methods described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Knightsbridge reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.
The Knightsbridge is available in a wide choice of premium leathers selected for character, durability and natural ageing. Because the model is unbuttoned, the leather’s natural grain, colour depth and patina become the focal point — making full‑grain and premium hides especially striking on this design.
