Oxford Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.
The Oxford Collection
The Oxford Chesterfield is a timeless, beautifully balanced interpretation of the classic British design. With its traditional deep buttoning, elegantly rolled arms and perfectly proportioned back height, the Oxford offers a harmonious silhouette suited to both period homes and contemporary interiors. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and upholstered entirely by hand, it delivers the comfort, character and longevity expected of a true heritage‑maker piece.

Craft & Construction
The Oxford is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back and arms, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople to create a crisp, traditional diamond pattern. The scroll arms are generously padded and finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time for precision.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Every element is crafted using traditional British upholstery methods to ensure structure, comfort and long‑term durability.
This model is built using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Oxford reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.

Made in England, One Piece at a Time
Every Winchester sofa is produced in small batches by trained upholsterers in England, maintaining the standards set out in our Workshop Principles and preserving the heritage of traditional British furniture making.
