Chelsea Chesterfield

Chelsea Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.

Craft & Construction
The Chelsea is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back and arms, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople. The scroll arms are refined and slightly slimmer than traditional models, giving the Chelsea its distinctive modern‑classic profile.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Each piece is finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time by our upholsterers.
This model is built using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Chelsea reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.

The Chelsea is available in a wide choice of premium leathers selected for character, durability and natural ageing. Smooth full‑grain hides emphasise the model’s contemporary lines, while traditional Antique leathers highlight the depth of the buttoning.

We select only the filling materials that uphold the standards of traditional British upholstery, chosen for their ability to support the frame, protect the springs, and maintain the shape of each model over time. Every option is tested in our workshop to ensure it delivers the right balance of comfort, longevity and maker‑grade performance.

A detailed specification sheet is available for every model in the Chelsea Collection.
