Hatfield Chesterfield

Hatfield Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.

Craft & Construction
The Hatfield is individually hand deep‑buttoned across its elevated back, arms and front border, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople to create a crisp, traditional diamond pattern. The higher back profile requires advanced upholstery skill to maintain tension and symmetry across the full height of the piece.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. The scroll arms are generously padded and finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time to complement the model’s refined proportions.
This model is crafted using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Hatfield reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.

The Hatfield is available in a wide choice of premium leathers selected for character, durability and natural ageing. Antique‑finished hides highlight the depth of the buttoning beautifully, while full‑grain leathers offer a more contemporary interpretation of this elevated silhouette.

We have selected what we believe to be the best standard filling materials to provide optimum support for each model, allowing the springs to do their job.

A detailed specification sheet is available for every model in the Hatfield Collection.
