The Ralph Collection
The Ralph Chesterfield is a contemporary, understated interpretation of the classic British design. With its lower back, refined scroll arms and clean, streamlined silhouette, it offers a modern elegance while retaining the depth and character of traditional hand‑buttoned upholstery. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and crafted entirely by hand, the Ralph delivers a relaxed, versatile presence suited to both modern apartments and period homes seeking a lighter, more minimalist Chesterfield aesthetic.
Craft & Construction
The Ralph is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back and arms, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople to create a crisp, refined diamond pattern. The lower back profile gives the model its distinctive modern‑classic character while maintaining the sculpted precision of heritage upholstery.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Each piece is finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time to complement the model’s clean, contemporary lines.

Made in England, One Piece at a Time
Every Winchester sofa is produced in small batches by trained upholsterers in England, maintaining the standards set out in our Workshop Principles and preserving the heritage of traditional British furniture making.
