Craft & Construction
The Gainsborough Arm Chair is crafted using the same heritage methods applied to our classic seating, with every stage shaped by hand in accordance with the principles outlined in our Craft & Upholstery Guide.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for long‑term strength. The seat, back and arms are upholstered by hand, with traditional padding techniques used to achieve the chair’s characteristic depth and proportion. Turned legs complete the design, adding a period‑correct detail that reinforces the Gainsborough’s historic lineage.
Every detail, from the leather cutting to the hand‑tacked upholstery, reflects the discipline and precision of true British craftsmanship.
