The Knights Wing Chair is a refined, architectural interpretation of the classic British wing chair. With its smooth, unbuttoned leather panels, tall protective wings and distinctive solid‑wood H‑frame base, the Knights blends traditional craftsmanship with a clean, modern‑heritage silhouette. The absence of buttoning allows the leather’s natural grain and colour depth to take centre stage, while the timber base introduces a grounded, craftsman‑built presence. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and upholstered entirely by hand, the Knights delivers a supportive, upright sit with a calm, sculptural elegance.
Craft & Construction
The Knights Wing Chair is crafted with smooth, unbuttoned leather panels across the wings, back and seat. This plain‑panelled style demands exceptional precision in leather cutting, stretching and hand‑tacking, as every seam must run true and every curve must be perfectly shaped.
Its defining feature is the solid‑wood H‑frame base, crafted from kiln‑dried hardwood and finished by hand. The H‑frame provides structural integrity, visual balance and a traditional craftsman’s aesthetic that complements the clean upholstery.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. The wings are shaped and padded by hand to create the protective, enveloping profile that defines a true British wing chair. Every element is crafted using the traditional methods outlined in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring structure, comfort and long‑term durability.
The Knights Wing Chair is available in a wide choice of premium leathers selected for character, durability and natural ageing. Because the model is unbuttoned, the leather’s natural grain, texture and patina become the focal point, making full‑grain and premium hides especially striking on this design.
