The Marlowe Blend Wing Chair is a refined interpretation of the classic British wing chair, shaped with smooth, plain wings, a supportive high back and Winchester’s signature hand‑built construction. Each piece is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. Craft & Construction
The Marlowe Blend Wing Chair is shaped with a tall, supportive back and clean, plain wings that require precise leather cutting, stretching and hand‑tacking to achieve smooth, uninterrupted lines. The silhouette is finished with hand‑applied studwork, placed one at a time along the wings, arms and front border for accuracy, rhythm and longevity. The chair stands on solid Queen Anne wooden legs, crafted from kiln‑dried hardwood and finished by hand. The cabriole front legs and shaped rear legs give the Marlowe its composed, period‑correct stance. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame, dowelled, glued and screwed, the Marlowe Blend Wing Chair follows the traditional British upholstery methods outlined in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring structure, comfort and long‑term durability.
The Marlowe Blend Wing Chair is available in a wide choice of premium leathers selected for character, durability and natural ageing. Blend leathers highlight the smooth wings and clean lines beautifully, while full‑grain and antique‑finished hides offer either a contemporary or heritage interpretation of this classic silhouette.
