Queen Anne Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.
The Queen Anne Collection
The Queen Anne is a refined, elevated interpretation of the Chesterfield tradition. Distinguished by its elegant high back, sculpted wings and signature cabriole legs, it blends 18th‑century English design with the depth and character of full hand‑buttoned upholstery. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and crafted entirely by hand, the Queen Anne offers a stately, upright sit with unmistakable heritage presence

Craft & Construction
The Queen Anne is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back and wings, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople. The wings are traditionally upholstered to create a sculpted, enveloping form, while the scroll arms are padded and finished with individually hand‑nailed studs.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Cabriole legs are fitted and finished by hand, completing the model’s period‑correct silhouette.
This piece is built using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Queen Anne reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.

Made in England, One Piece at a Time
Every Winchester sofa is produced in small batches by trained upholsterers in England, maintaining the standards set out in our Workshop Principles and preserving the heritage of traditional British furniture making.
