The Solomon Chair
The Solomon Chair is a composed, sculptural tub‑style design shaped with the same heritage craftsmanship and material discipline that define every Winchester piece. Handmade using authentic materials and traditional upholstery techniques, the Solomon brings proportion, comfort and quiet refinement to both formal and informal interiors. The deep‑buttoned back creates a distinctive, enveloping profile, while the plain seat offers a balanced, timeless aesthetic. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and finished with fluted legs, the Solomon Chair offers enduring quality and a disciplined, maker‑led expression of this elegant silhouette.
Craft & Construction
The Solomon Chair is crafted using the same heritage methods applied to our classic seating, with every stage shaped by hand in accordance with the principles outlined in our Craft & Upholstery Guide.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for long‑term strength. The deep‑buttoned back is upholstered by hand, with traditional padding techniques used to achieve its sculptural form. The plain seat provides a clean, refined finish, while the fluted legs introduce a period‑correct detail rooted in the English furniture tradition.
Every detail, from the leather cutting to the hand‑tacked upholstery, reflects the discipline and precision of true British craftsmanship.
