William Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.
The William Collection
The William Chesterfield is a timeless, mid‑height interpretation of the classic British design. With its deep hand‑buttoned back and arms, generous scroll profile and beautifully balanced proportions, the William offers a sculptural, heritage‑rich silhouette suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. Its presence is quietly confident, refined without being theatrical, elegant without excess. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and upholstered entirely by hand, the William delivers a supportive, comfortable sit with enduring maker quality.

Craft & Construction
The William is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back, arms and front border, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople to create a crisp, traditional diamond pattern. The scroll arms are generously padded and finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time for precision and longevity.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Every element is crafted using traditional British upholstery methods to ensure structure, comfort and long‑term durability.
This model is built using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every William reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.
