The Charlotte Chase Lounge
The Charlotte Chase Lounge is a sculptural, deep‑buttoned chaise designed for relaxed, elegant living. With its fully hand‑buttoned back, arms and chaise section, the Charlotte blends the drama of a traditional Chesterfield with the comfort and flow of a modern lounge silhouette. The extended seat invites full‑length reclining, while the deep buttoning creates a rich, heritage texture that showcases true British upholstery skill. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and upholstered entirely by hand, the Charlotte delivers a supportive, enveloping sit with a refined, architectural presence.
Craft & Construction
The Charlotte is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back, arms and chaise platform. Each pleat is shaped and each button is set by hand, creating a crisp, traditional diamond pattern that flows seamlessly across the extended lounge section. This continuous buttoning requires advanced upholstery skill to maintain tension, symmetry and comfort across a longer seating surface.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. The chaise extension is fully sprung and reinforced to support long‑term lounging without sagging. Every element is crafted using the traditional British upholstery methods outlined in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring structure, comfort and longevity.

Every Winchester sofa is produced in small batches by trained upholsterers in England, maintaining the standards set out in our Workshop Principles and preserving the heritage of traditional British furniture making.
