Hastings Chesterfield Collection
Each Winchester Chesterfield is handmade in our British workshop using traditional upholstery methods passed down through generations. You can explore our full craft lineage in the Heritage Timeline, which documents how our techniques have evolved since the early makers.
The Hastings Collection
The Hastings Chesterfield is a refined, elegantly proportioned interpretation of the classic British design. With its gently raised back, slimmer scroll arms and beautifully balanced silhouette, the Hastings offers a lighter, more contemporary take on the traditional Chesterfield form. Deep hand‑buttoning across the back and arms preserves the heritage character, while the model’s clean lines and tailored presence make it a versatile choice for both modern and period interiors. Built on a hand‑joined hardwood frame and crafted entirely by hand, the Hastings delivers a supportive, comfortable sit with unmistakable maker quality.

Craft & Construction
The Hastings is individually hand deep‑buttoned across the back and arms, with each pleat shaped by our skilled craftspeople to create a crisp, refined diamond pattern. The slimmer scroll arms and elevated back give the model its distinctive modern‑classic profile while retaining the sculpted precision of traditional British upholstery.
The frame is hand‑joined from solid hardwood, dowelled, glued and screwed for enduring strength. Each piece is finished with individually hand‑nailed studs, placed one at a time to complement the model’s elegant proportions.
This model is crafted using the same deep‑buttoning and hand‑tied techniques described in our Craft & Upholstery Guide, ensuring every Hastings reflects true British maker skill rather than mass‑produced retail methods.
